What are Dental Bridges?

Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is a false tooth that goes in place of missing teeth or gaps in between teeth. The false tooth is called pontic which is usually made from porcelain to blend in with your natural teeth. There are three types of dental bridges which are traditional, cantilever, and Maryland. The traditional is a pontic placed in between two of your natural teeth and cemented on both sides. A cantilever is a pontic placed in the gap but is cemented on your natural tooth from only one side. The Maryland bridge is also like the traditional and required natural teeth on both sides but uses a different framework.

Cost Of Dental Bridges

There are many things that will determine the cost of dental bridges like, the number of teeth needed to fill the gaps, the material used, the complexity of placement, and if there are any other underlying dental issues. The cost of bridges can start off around $2000 for one tooth and go up to $15,000+ with multiple fillings. You want to make sure that the dentist performing this procedure specializes in them. Though the cost seems high if done correctly dental bridges can last over 10 years.
